The Purivox DA-RC System (Double Airport - Radio Controlled System) is a radio remote controlled gas cannon for successful and effective bird control at airports. The Purivox DA-RC system is a gas cannon specially developed for airports, which covers areas along the runway and keeps the birds away. Thanks to the special design of the Purivox DA-RC system, the device is ideally suited for covering larger areas along the runway. Using the two side-mounted blast tubes, the loud sound blast/bang is produced traveling parallel the runway. Furthermore, it minimizes the risk of collision with the Purivox DA-RC system by the very low design with an overall height (including built solar panel) of only 60cm. The propane gas cylinder which is necessary for the utilization, it is secured in the housing of Purivox DA-RC system.
The Purivox DA-RC system consists of a stainless steel case which is completely weather resistant and therefore suitable for use throughout the year. The mounted shot tubes are available in two material variants, powder coated steel blast tube and stainless steel blast tube. The radio remote control makes it possible to operate the Purivox DA-RC system at almost every point on the airfield. This is done using the Purivox TX-H3 radio transmitter. The range here is up to 8 kilometers (depending on the country and the local landscapre / infrastructure).

 

Operating principle

In the case of visual confirmation of birds which pose a threat to the departuting and arriving airplanes, the gas cannon will be triggered after a visual inspection of the area around the Purivox DA-RC system. For this purpose, the two-digit device number is entered via the Purivox TX-H3 remote control transmitter and confirmed. Immediately after triggering the Purivox DA-RC system will fire the shots sequence. This is a 2 or 4-fold bang sequence which is preset by means of various settings.
